A recent car accident has left one man died in west Louisville. The interesting thing about this case is that the man was not inside one of the vehicle involved in the crash, instead he was waiting for the bus. The accident occurred at the intersection of 23rd and Hill Street around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. According to Louisville Metro Police, an Oldsmobile minivan heading north on 23rd Street ran the stop sign and collided with a maroon Dodge Intrepid traveling east on Hill Street. The force of the collision caused the Intrepid to be thrown in the direction of a nearby bus stop where the victim was standing. As a result, the man was hit and killed by the vehicle.

According to news reports, the victim has been identified as a black man in his early 60s. He was rushed to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead after his arrival from serious injuries sustained in the crash. The identity of the individual has not been released to the public but authorities have notified the victim's family.
